4 tips to ace your language certification

1. Complete all the lessons

First, you need to finish all the lessons in the level. Take your time with this. It can be tempting to fly through the lessons to get to the end of the level (and the certificate). But don’t rush.

Work your way through the lessons. Make notes. And practice what you learn. To give yourself the best chance of remembering what you learn, you need to find ways to use it in your daily life. Speak with friends and other members of the Busuu community. Practice writing and pronunciation. Get feedback from native speakers and other language learners.

Only after you’ve done this are you ready to move on to the End of Level test preparation.

2. Listen to feedback and reflect

After finishing all the lessons and practising what you’ve learned, you need to identify your strengths and weaknesses. To do this, listen to the feedback you get in the Busuu community. Reflect on your performance when using the new content in real-life conversations.

3. Go back over the lessons you struggled with

Now you know what you’ve mastered, and what’s still a challenge for you. Use this knowledge to plan for your certification test.

If everything went smoothly when you practised ordering food in the cafe, you don’t need to worry too much about reviewing that topic. Spend the time before the test working on your weaknesses.

Go back over the difficult lessons and language. And get practising again — in real-life situations and the Busuu community.

4. Relax and take the test

All that’s left is to take the test. The Busuu End of Level tests aren’t high-stakes, stressful tests. If you don’t get enough questions correct, you can try again after 2 weeks.

So don’t worry about the test. Relax and do your best. Take the test in a quiet place where you’re safe from interruptions. Even if it takes two or three tries, be proud of your certificate and your progress.
